TWO pages of an award winning book have been dedicated to Tavistock shop Country Cheeses. Owners Gary and Elise Jungheim were really pleased to see their shop in the book, West Country Cheesemakers, which won gold at the British Cheese Awards 2006. The book shows all the cheese makers in the West Country and highlights what they do and how they do it. The pages featuring the shop explain how Elise and Gary started the business, and how it is a combined effort with other cheese makers. The front cover is also dedicated to Country Cheeses. Author Michael Raffael spent one morning with Gary and Elise in the shop. On one page he said: 'They generate such a hum of excitement around them that five minutes at their counter would prove a heady fix for the most jaded retail junky.' Elise said: 'You never quite know what's going to be said, I think it was really sweet. 'We didn't realise it was such a prestigious book, so when we found out we were really thrilled and so pleased that two pages were dedicated to the shop, it is wonderful.' Sometime during the next four weeks Michael will be coming back to the shop to do a book signing.
