SAY cheese ? a Land?s End to John O?Groats cyclist made a special pit stop into the Taw Valley Creamery at North Tawton to present the firm with a top cheese award. Taw Valley Creamery, part of Milk Link, were presented with the prestigious Chr Hansen Award on Tuesday (September 20), which it won at the Nantwich International Cheese Show for its Double Gloucester cheese. The award was presented by Steve Bullin, 40, of Chr Hansen, a key supplier of Taw Valley Creamery, during a special pit-stop on his mammoth charity cycle from Land?s End to John O?Groats in support of Cancer Research UK. Jim Dunlop, general manager of Taw Valley Creamery, which makes a full range of Cheddar, Red Leicester and Double Gloucester, was on hand to accept the award from Steve on the second day of his gruelling challenge. He presented a donation towards the fund raising for Cancer Research UK. Having pedalled through Cornwall to Taw Valley, Steve will continue his trip over Dartmoor and north along the Welsh border, skirting the Lake District into Scotland, via lochs and mountains to the north coast and finally John O?Groats.
