MOTORISTS driving vehicles with defective lights will be targeted by Tavistock police over the next few days.
PC Stuart Gibbins said the police were currently paying particular attention to this.
'Not only is it illegal to have defective lights but it is also particularly dangerous this time of year,' he said.
'It is a road safety issue with people driving with defective lights being a danger to themselves, other road users and pedestrians.'
PC Gibbons said this time of year the road surfaces tend to be more dangerous and that, coupled with the darker evenings, meant motorists should make sure all their lights were working.
