THREE Mount house netball teams played away matches against Stover School at Newton Abbot, winning two and drawing one. The 1st VII match was a tight game. Mount House had more of possession, but through mistakes in passing were not able to make use of the many opportunities they created. Despite this they came through for a narrow victory by 14 to 13, with Charlotte FitzGerald the star of the day. The U11 A team were on the back-foot for most of the first half of their game. Poor footwork and lack of communication meant they did not play as fluently as in recent matches. After stiff words at threequarter time, the team pulled together and made better use of set plays. Izzy Norris and Louisa Butcher scored three of the Mount House goals in the 4-4 draw. Mount House U11 B team approached their first fixture with enthusiasm. They were superbly captained by Alice Donne who led by example, playing tirelessly. After an excellent start, the girls lost concentration and their play suffered for a while. After advice and encouragement from captain and coach at half time, the second period was much better. Play became quicker and more precise, and there was some great shooting from Sascha Lopes and Lucy Redman as the team took control for a 9-7 win. Special mention should be made of Ollie McGonigle who stepped into the breach at the last minute, and played a significant part in the victory.
