WEST Devon businesses Amano Technologies and Condy Mathias Accountants teamed up with Whitchurch WI to create an open air cake party extravaganza.

The event was held at Atlas House on West Devon Business Park. Including gift aid, a total of £222 was raised.

The money will go to ROC (Robert Owen Communities) Welcome Tavistock — a social club for local people with learning disabilities.

Graham Coiley, director of Amano, said: 'We enjoyed great success in bringing people together for cakes and coffee. I am delighted we were able to raise this wonderful sum.

'I would commend ROC to any local business which is looking for team building opportunities, to review its charity partner or wants to hold a charity raffle this Christmas.'

Lesley Johnson, senior manager at Condy Mathias, said: 'We enjoyed wonderful cakes from the WI, wonderful support from ROC and Atlas House and wonderful support from local residents. In short, a very worthwhile event.'

Calvin Lovelock, fundraiser from ROC, said: 'I am delighted about the outcome of this cake party initiative. This money will enable members from ROC Welcome Tavistock to take part in a new and exciting experiences.'
