WE are constantly reminded to recycle and reduce as much as possible, but many things go to landfill that needn?t. I?d like to make a suggestion through your letters page. All charities and organisations who can put some of our ?rubbish? to good use, such as tinfoil, used stamps, craft items, balls of wool etc, should write to you saying what they require and where their collection point is, or a telephone number for us to call. Then perhaps you could print a guide for all of your readers. This will benefit the environment and the charities and organisations, and I expect there may well be many more various items that ?somebody somewhere? can make use of. Can I also remind your readers that plastic bottles can be recycled in Okehampton. They aren?t collected from our recycling boxes, but you can take them up to the Exeter Road site. Everyone who can, should call up to this site to see what can be recycled and purchased - it?s like a permanent car-boot sale up there! Pam Stewart Prospect Hill Okehamton
