FOLLOWING the resignation of Margaret Sage as chairman of the Okehampton Carnival Committee Stan Stormont was elected at the recent annual meeting.
Mrs Sage said she had enjoyed her time with the carnival, but after 25 years on the committee she felt it was time someone else had a chance.
She gave her best wishes to Mr Stormont in his new role.
At the meeting Marie Daniel, a former chairperson and treasurer, also announced her resignation.
Mr Stormont thanked both Mrs Sage and Mrs Daniel for their ?long and tireless support? for the carnival.
He thanked everyone for their confidence in him and said he looked forward to seeing everyone at this year?s carnival which will take place on October 18.
