PROBLEMS in the parish or simply delighted by it? It is time to express your views and opinions on issues related to living in South Zeal. Saturday November 17 hosts the ?Appraisal Open Day? between 10am and 4pm at the Pavilion on South Zeal Recreation Ground. South Tawton Parish Council is preparing a Parish Appraisal and is providing the opportunity beforehand for parishioners to express their views on the questions a proposed questionnaire should contain. These will include a host of issues such as policing, crime, anti-social behaviour, litter, dog and parking problems, housing requirements, public transport, sports opportunities, recreation, environmental issues, community services, medical and dental provision, schooling, entertainment, footpaths, clubs, churches and shops. The eventual questionnaire will be delivered by hand to every household in the parish and collected in the same way. The information will be collated and when it is published will be a valued guideline for local government use and other service providers. The system requires many hands to make lighter the work that the project entails and volunteers will be welcome to assist. A steering group will co-ordinate the project.
