CONDITIONS were perfect for the annual inter-schools cross country event recently, which, by permission of Colonel and Mrs Clark, was held at Ford Farm, Sticklepath, with teams from South Tawton, North Tawton, Chagford and Okehampton.

The runners made a superb effort and completed the 2.5 kilometres in excellent time. First over the finishing line were Jai Minett (Chagford), closely followed by Jack Dixon (Chagford) and, to make it the cross country equivalent of a hat-trick, Oscar Turner-McKinnell (Chagford).

The first girl to finish was Annie Sampson (Chagford) and in second and third place for the girls? trophies were Clemmie Moore (Chagford) and Lottie Trerise (Okehampton) respectively.

Winners Chagford were presented with the Weaver Trophy and individual medals. South Tawton Primary School took second place.
