Robbie Miller fed a fine pass to Andrew Davis who, in the absence of striker Steve Scott, fired in the first goal to extend his season's total to 13. From there, Chagford seemed to lose their way and let Cullompton back into the game. Defensively, the Moormen were sound and Ant Geering had little to do behind his defence. When called upon the youngster dealt capably with what came his way.
The second half followed a similar pattern, the bitter cold seeming to have gripped Chagford joints. With recent results attained with some real footballing shows, the team showed they had the ability to dig deep and grind out a win as well.
Ten minutes from time, Steve Kinsey's quickly taken free-kick found the net, to noisy protests from the hosts. A couple of minutes from time and Davis had netted his second. Jon de Cruz slotted through a precision forward pass and Davis kept his head to coolly finish off Rangers.

Chagford Reserves 1
Awliscombe United 1
CHAGFORD Reserves ground out a result from a match that was not pretty for the spectator.
From the off, Awliscombe took up the play. Faster on the break they pressed the home defence from the start. Gibbs was on hand to tap the ball home following good work on United's left flank. Such an early deficit has proved Chagford's undoing this season but, a couple of tactical changes later, they picked themselves up to create their own opportunities. There was nothing to seriously trouble the visiting 'keeper until the closing stages of the half, when calmer finishing may have given Chagford parity.
Twelve minutes into the second half and that parity was restored. Player-manager Simon Ralph was handily placed to nod his header over Awliscombe's goalkeeper. The goal had come from a pinball session in the Awls goal-mouth where Jordan and Whatley both had shots blocked, the ball bouncing up nicely for Ralph to finish.
Chagford went on to enjoy the lion's share of the remainder of the game. Awliscombe showed their frustration in a series of unfair challenges but Chagford kept their heads and played football.
Time eventually ran out, the hosts feeling they might have done better but thankful to keep their own good record going.
n The Reserves travel to Axmouth United on Saturday, kick-off 2.15pm.
