CHAGFORD is pulling out all the stops for a weekend of entertainment, exhibition, fun and artistry on June 16,17 and 18.

The town will be presenting a Millennium Festival featuring exhibits and displays to suit all tastes.

More than 40 groups and organisations from the town are depicting an event or period of Chagford's history in floral displays for the main feature — a flower festival in Chagford Parish Church entitled 'Chagford 2000 and Beyond'.

The groups range from pre-school children to Chagford's oldest residents and everyone in-between.

Local people, places and events will be the subject of a photographic exhibition, 'Glimpses of Chagford', by Jill and Robert Pendleton in Endecott House and primary school children will be exhibiting some of their art work in the Jubilee Hall. Refreshments will also be served in the hall.

Around and about the church and hall there will be a fancy goods stall, grand draw with a fantastic range of prizes and a large plant stall.

Opening times for these events are 10.30am to 6pm on the Friday and Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

A special 'Concert of Summer Music' among the floral displays will start in the church at 7.30pm on June 17 featuring Nicola Wydenbach who performed in the town last September and other singers and musicians. Tickets are £5 and available from Chagford Bookshop.

All proceeds from the concert go to Chagford Parish Church, Chagford Health Centre and the Children's Hospice South West.

There is disabled access at all venues and coach parties are welcome but they are being asked to contact Lucy Shields on 01647 432304 in the first instance.
