Tamerton Foliot 4

Tavistock CFC 1

HIT by injuries Tavistock's defence were caught napping inside the first five minutes and allowed Tamerton the space to fire home and take the lead.

Stand-in keeper Lowther was kept very busy and made a series of good saves to keep Tavistock in the game. Eventually the midfield began to spark into life, with Alex Mayne driving the Tavistock charge, linking well with Matt Havron, Pavel Drobek and Adam Higson to create a series of half chances. Solid challenges from Nick Cunningham, Jack Quinn, Zak Musson and Ed Argles, ensured that there was no further score before half time.

Tavistock started the second half brightly with Ethan Edwards, Sam Walker and Louis Wilson linking up down the left. A Mayne freekick from 20 yards struck the crossbar, but on 60 minutes Tavistock failed to clear a corner and it was 2-0.

Tavistock hit back immediately when a crossfield ball from Drobek was coolly dispatched by Havron. Tavistock's Wilson went close with a couple of neatly worked openings but the fitness of Tamerton showed and they secured the game with two late goals.

Tavistock Thistles 4

YMCA Kitto Parkway 2

THISTLES needed the first 10 minutes to find their feet, and some great defending and goalkeeping to keep Kitto at bay. As confidence grew Thistles started to perform as  a team and took the lead with a well worked team goal. The second goal arrived moments later following a superb passing display, before Thistles wrapped up an excellent first half with a third goal just before the break.

YMCA came out strongly in the second half and an early goal was followed by a converted penalty. Thistles sealed the victory with a fourth goal late on in a good team performance.

St Cleer 2

Tavistock Thistles 12

PLAYING On a small pitch, the compact midfield didn't provide much space for Thistles to play their  good passing football and it was a close game for the first five or ten minutes. But once the deadlock was broken by George Andrews, shortly followed by a second from Nathan Ord, there really was only one team in it.

Thistles gained in confidence with Jack Easton and Charlie Phipps dominating the centre of the park and it wasn't long before another goal was scored this time with a sharp shot on the turn from Alistair Spicer. However two quick breakaways saw St Cleer pull it back to 3-2 but Thistles continued their dominance and extended the lead to 4-2 shortly before the break with a goal from Jack.

After the half-time break, Thistles went on to score another eight goals, two from Ben Roberts, three more from Jack Easton, two more from Alistair and another from George.
