ATHLETES from both Tavistock Athletics and Bere Alston Trekker's (Bats) took part in the annual Six Moor Miles race hosted by Plymouth Harriers.
The Six Moor Miles race provides a unique opportunity to run a one lap course of approximately six miles, in the picturesque surroundings of the Maristow Estate, across the open moorland on a well marshalled course which starts are the Leg of Mutton in Yelverton. Conditions were wet and muddy underfoot. First man home for Tavistock was Adam Holland and first lady was Sharon Daw. For the Bats, the first man was Derek Hicks and first lady Jo Campbell. Making their race debuts for the Bats was Erin Jarvis and Julian Setterington and for Tavistock was Jackie Ralph.
Also running from the Men Only Track Sessions, Tavistock were Steve Watson 49mins 29secs, Jon Eatly 58.31 and Tim Fileman 58.22. Also a special mention for Elaine Fileman 1.08.23.
Tavistock's Clare Short and Liz Vernon also took part and out of a total of 352 runners Clare did a time of 59mins 58secs coming 178th and Liz came in at 1hr 12mins 38secs coming 295th.
