THE Winsford Centre at Halwill Junction has opened an in-house charity shop.

Lunch Club members felt it would mean that those, mainly elderly, members, who found it difficult to get to the shops would have a place to browse for clothes, books, household goods and little treats. It would also recycle unwanted but good quality items and be their contribution to fundraising for the trust.

They will also be having a Christmas table at each meeting during November and up to Christmas where members can buy new items that have been donated, as presents.

If anyone has goods they feel would be suitable for either venture these would be much appreciated, especially clothing over size 18. Items can be taken into the centre between Tuesday and Thursday, or collection can be arranged by ringing Sue on 01409 221470. This would apply to the area between Okehampton, Holsworthy and Hatherleigh.

There is a bangers and brains quiz night on Saturday November 20 and a Christmas Fair, with carols, food and top quality and unusual craft stalls on Saturday December 4.
