SPECIAL events will be taking place next Saturday, August 27, to celebrate ten years of the Tamar Valley?s AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) status. Any potential sailor will have fun on the ?Lynher Spotter?, helping the skipper to navigate, steer the boat and look out for old quays and a castle on Tamar Valley land. The sailing trip, which lasts three hours, is suitable for all ages and costs £20 per person. For more information, or to book a place, which is essential, telephone TamarSail on 01752 840599. ?Walk on the Other Side? is the second activity being held in honor of the celebration. The three-hour walk begins with a ferry trip from Calstock Quay across into Devon, before passing through Buttspill Woods and Tuckermarsh and returning to Calstock via the Pedestrian Ferry. The walk, which starts at 10.30am, is free, although money will be needed for the ferry. For more information about the event, contact June at the Calstock Footpath Society on 01822 833422.
