THE community theatre charity MED Theatre was at Okehampton College last week for drama, dance and music workshops on the theme of Castle Drogo. Earlier this year, a group of teenagers from the charity succeeded in gaining funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots programme to organise community events and workshops about the last castle built in England. As part of their project they will also be performing a play at the castle itself later this year, and they have already held a one-day workshop at Chagford Church of England Primary School. MED was established 18 years ago and is based in Moretonhampstead. Its performances and workshops bring together children, teenagers and adults, as well as both professional performers and members of the larger community.
