THE 31st week of Callington and District Netball League began with a physical and hard game between in-form Caradon and league leaders Samworth Seven.

Both teams began well with equal amounts of possession and good passing down the court, with excellent play from Samworth?s Judith Shipton (WA).

Caradon fought well and played in a determined fashion but were unable to steal a point.

Final score: Caradon 12, Samworth Seven 37.

Spot On received a shock from an improved Hawks Tor and had to work hard for their narrow win. Hawks Tor youngsters Stevie Gubbins (C) and Hannah Venning (GA) gave excellent displays, running rings around their older opponents, but Spot On managed to snatch the majority of the points.

Final score: Spot On 19, Hawks Tor 15.

The final game was a friendly yet competitive game between LOM and YAO. LOM, with some players out of their normal positions. YAO, also under strength, with some emergency stand-ins, did not play up to their usual high standard and were in danger of losing out on all points until the third quarter when they fought back a little, with good play from Haley Edwards (WA).

Final score: LOM 24, YAO 17.
