VOLUNTEERING mentors are needed in West Devon to help young carers achieve their goals and feel more positive about their futures.
Bright Futures, a Devon Young Carers Project, is appealing for people who are good listeners and who may have a couple of hours to spare to consider becoming a volunteer mentor.
The mentors will meet with a young carer for a couple of hours every fortnight. Mentoring enables a young carer to take regular breaks from caring, try new activities and have some fun.
There is no specific experience required to become a volunteer mentor, as training and support will be provided.
