I WONDER if it would be possible through the pages of your paper to ask if there is anyone interested in helping the South Dartmoor Riding for the Disabled Association Riding Group, who meet on a Tuesday evening from 6.15pm to 8.15pm at Bickleigh Barracks near Roborough on the outskirts of Plymouth. We ride 12 children and adults over this period of two hours each week (weather permitting) and this requires a lot of help from able bodied people. We are particularly interested in helpers with a basic knowledge of horses and ponies, but there are jobs for anyone interested provided they are over 14 years of age. Ideally, volunteers come each week throughout the riding season which is from May to September, but if anyone can come every other week or even once a month we would be grateful. We wonder if this might be especially interesting for Scout, Guide or Ranger groups or young adults undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. If anyone feels they can help I can be contacted on 01822 890327 and give further information, and take down details so that admission to the Barrack Stables can be arranged for a visit to come and see what we do. I thank you for this chance to contact a wide range of your readers. L M Pidgeon Group Instructor
