AN appeal has been made to any experienced cook who is willing to give their time to help provide Christmas meals for people at Tavistock United Reformed Church.

For the last five years, a free Christmas day lunch and party has been held at the church in Russell Street, for people who would prefer not to spend the day at home.

Between 60 and 100 people usually attend, not only for the company but for the lunch.

Members of the church are this year looking for volunteers to help with the day and in particular are in need of an experienced cook who is able to give their time and talent to the worthwhile cause.
