Duchy one
Calstock 7
Looe Town 1
CALSTOCK wanted to prove they were worthy winners of the division one title by ending the season on a win.
They got off to the perfect start, creating plenty of chances and dominating possession. It was not long until Calstock's top goal scorer Graham Galway opened the scoring, winning a header in the box to give them the lead.
The Calstock defence, Darren Benfield, Scott Holt, Mark Blanks and Craig Keegan ensured there was no way through for the visitors, winning all the loose balls and intercepting any attacking attempt by Looe. Lee Hould and Galway linked up well, allowing Hould to curl the ball around the defender and into the near post, making it 2-0 to Calstock. Chris Tilbury and Rob Jinman played a superb passing game in midfield linking up well with wingers Shane Richards and Charlie Gale, who put it some excellent balls for the front men. It was Galway who scored the third and then a fourth to complete his hat-trick.
Throughout the game Calstock impressed and further goals came from Hould with his second, Tilbury with an impressive individual run and finish and Craig Keegan. Looe did get one goal from an excellent free kick.
Man of the match went to Galway for his excellent three goals during the game; however the whole team from defence to up front played superbly.
Calstock proved they are worthy winners of division one of the Duchy League having lost only one game all season. Everyone involved in the club would like to congratulate the manager and the team for a very successful and satisfying season.
