Bideford U16s 33 North Okes U16s 35 This game was packed with drama and was the most exciting of the season so far for North Okes. The away side completely dominated the first half, closing down the Bideford pack and denying them every opportunity to run from deep. They were impressive in the lineout, where Bill Sharp won a lot of the ball. The ball was distributed well and wide by North Okes, which resulted in the first two tries being run in from the wing, firstly by Jamie Stevens, followed by Matt Webber. Towards the end of the first half North Okes found their way through the middle, using the intelligent running of Cameron Rickerby and Will Hawking and so by half time they led by 20 points. Bideford responded to their half time team talk by showing a lot of commitment, scoring four tries and converting three of them. However, the North Okes came back, showing great character when Andrew Fishleigh battled his way through to score their fifth try, bringing the points difference to just one. All seemed to be lost when Bideford scored and converted, but the North Okes were awarded a penalty in front of goal which was competently converted by Callum Ausden, taking North Okes to within five points of Bideford with five minutes to go. In the final minute Rob Stepto made a strong last minute push for the line and scored next to the posts. Callum Ausden did not let the pressure get to him and converted, winning the game for the visitors.
