WEST Devon dog walkers are this week being encouraged to sign up for this year's annual Dartmoor Trek for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The 13-mile challenge takes place on Sunday, October 14. You don't need a dog to take part, but canine companions are more than welcome to explore the open moorland, historic woodland and iconic tors, with all money raised helping continue the amazing word carried out by Marie Curie nurses throughout Devon.
Every walker will receive a trekking t-shirt to wear on the challenge and as they cross the finish line, they will receive a delicious cream tea, certificate and medal to wear with pride.
Last year, more than 170 walkers raised £15,000 for the nursing service — organisers hope that this year's total will be even higher.
