AS part of Devon Pollinators Week, until July 19 people are invited to a free talk and workshop on butterfly conservation on Dartmoor hosted by the Dartmoor Conservation Garden sited behind the National Park Visitor Centre, Princetown.

'Dartmoor's Threatened Butterflies and Practical Conservation' one hour talk by Jenny Plackett of the 'Two Moor Threatened Butterfly Project', will be staged in the Old Duchy Hotel, beside the Visitor Centre, from noon.

At 2pm a free 'Practical Butterfly Identification' workshop for everyone will see Simon Phelps of 'All the Moor Butterflies' giving guidance on how to identify local Dartmoor butterflies, both common and rarer species.

He will also explain how to take part in the nation's Big Butterfly Count, organised by UK charity, Butterfly Conservation and supported by the Dartmoor National Park Authority's 'Your Dartmoor Fund' and the Dartmoor Preservation Association.
