WEST Devon’s Percy’s Country Hotel and Restaurant has notched up two prestigious food and drink accolades in one week.
Percy’s was first selected as a finalist in the Free From Eating Out Awards and then chosen as runner-up in the Observer Food Monthly Awards.
Run by chef Tina Bricknell-Webb and front-of-house husband Tony, Percy’s was one of the first organic restaurants in the country and was named Organic Restaurant of the Year in 2005. The team grows and farms much of its own produce and offers entirely gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free menus.
Percy’s has recently introduced the idea of a single daily changing menu where the very best produce available and in season on the day is used in the menu.
Tina Bricknell-Webb said: ‘We feel we have been setting the agenda for the way food is produced and served for a number of years now so it is wonderful to receive this recognition.
‘We use the very best local Devon ingredients and look to turn them into a spectacular eating experience for our guests, including all those with particular dietary requirements who we feel deserve the very best too.’
The winners of the Free From Eating Out Awards will be announced at a presentation party on Tuesday, November 22 at London’s Excel Centre.
