THE closure of Tavistock Bus Station has been extended due to essential maintenance work. The station, which shut on Monday June 5, will now not reopen until Monday June 19. Contractors relaying pavement areas, kerbs and drainage systems at the Plymouth Road site have discovered that further work needs to be carried out on a gulley at the station. The closure means that pick-up and drop-off points will continue to be sited outside the Bedford Hotel and directly opposite, near the entrance of Tavistock Parish Church. While the work is being carried out, the bus station kiosk remains open. For further information, please contact Michelle Baker, West Devon Borough Council?s development co-ordinator, on 01822 813702.
