THE bus link taking train passengers from Gunnislake Station to the world heritage site attraction at Morwellham Quay is now up and running.

The Bus Link will run Monday to Friday until August 27 from Gunnislake station, connecting with the 10.46am Tamar Valley Line train from Plymouth.

Once at Morwellham, passengers can experience the living history of the miners' cottages and the old Victorian school room as well as enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.

Simon Lister from Morwellham Quay said 'As part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Morwellham is in the same category as the Taj Mahal and the Great Barrier Reef. It's a wonderful day out for the whole family and the bus link provides a much needed alternative to using cars to visit the site.'

Rebecca Catterall, development officer for the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership, said this was a fantastic way to visit this precious site in an environmentally friendly way.

The bus link will cost £1 for adult, 50p for children and under fives go free.
