GREEN fingers are crossed in Buckland Monachorum as the village prepares for this year?s flower and produce show.
The show makes a welcome return on Saturday (August 16) after last year?s event was cancelled because of a lack of entries due to a bad summer for growing.
The show will be in the village hall with classes for all ages and abilities including flowers, vegetables, home cooking, handicrafts and photography.
Entrants do not have to be from Buckland Monachorum itself, people from the surrounding villages are welcome.
Forms have to be in by this evening (Thursday), but late entrants can be accepted tomorrow.
Hall chairman Stephen Fryer said: ?I know that the flower show committee have worked very hard to promote the event this year and it would be sad if entries were down again and the show had to close though lack of support. I would ask everyone to support what is, after all, a great village tradition.?
