Buckland Monachorum v Lewdown

THIS much anticipated match at Crapstone between two sides vying for the Moorland Bats Tamar League section A title produced a competitive game between two enthusiastic sides.

Buckland opened the batting with openers Gary Elkington and Paul Tomkies getting them off to an excellent start with both scoring 36. Eventually the home side put on a respectable 177-8 for Lewdown to chase.

The visitors got off to a steady start with their openers Mark Gibbs, 44 and Carl Weeks, 38. Further contributions came from Nick Hayden, 30 not out, and Brenden Worth, 30 not out saw Lewdown victorious to win by four wickets. Despite beating Buckland three times this season Lewdown had to settle for second spot.
