THE Bridestowe Queen Bees held their annual Garden Party on Saturday, June 23 to help raise funds for the group and also to support the charity Bloodwise.

The garden party was opened by Nancy Cleary. Nancy was diagnosed with leukaemia last year and needed eight pints of blood.

This was made more difficult because she has a rare blood group.

Bloodwise biked the blood down from Bristol and helped save her life. Nancy is now in remission and feeling great.

The group raised £242 from the party which together with donations will all go to Bloodwise.
