WEST Devon and East Cornwall pupils who attend St Joseph?s School in Launceston have been helping to organise this year?s collection of shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

The boxes will be winging their way to children in Eastern Europe in time for the festive season .

Headteacher Alan Doe said Operation Christmas Child was a very worthwhile project: ?At this time of year we should all be thinking of children who are less fortunate than ourselves and this is an excellent way of doing something practical,? he said.

This year, as part of the school?s community link, residents from Abbeyfield House have also contributed to the project.
