TAVISTOCK's Sir Francis Bowling Club held its monthly coffee morning earlier this month.

A cheque for £610 was presented to the Devon Air Ambulance as a result of fundraising by the club's lady members during the summer season, which included a charity fun run, draws, and an 'end of season' ladies' lunch.

Club chairman Sue Silcox handed the cheque over to Maralynn Butterworth, representing the DAA.

The club received a cheque themselves, for £2,500, from the Devon County Council locality fund, in support of the planned extension — including the building of a disabled toilets.

Devon County Councillor Debo Sellis was on hand to present the cheque to the club.

Sue Silcox, on behalf of the club, said: 'The chairman and members express their grateful thanks to Cllr Sellis for her and the county's support.'
