THE West Devon borough will fall within two constituencies at the next general election.

Although the date has still to be announced, the election must be held this year by Thursday June 3.

The boundary for the new Central Devon seat runs alongside the West Devon and Torridge one and some residents will notice that their usual parliamentary constituency will have changed.

Wards that used to be in the West Devon and Torridge constituency and have moved into Central Devon are Chagford, Drewsteignton, Exbourne, Hatherleigh, Lew Valley, North Tawton, Okehampton and South Tawton.

The remaining wards will be in the West Devon and Torridge constituency.

The Buckland Monachorum ward, which includes Yelverton, Buckland Monachorum, Crapstone, Clearbrook and Milton Combe, which was previously in the Plymouth South West constituency, has now been moved into the West Devon and Torridge constituency.

West Devon Borough Council is the lead authority for the new Central Devon constituency, and Torridge District Council will be organising the West Devon and Torridge seat.

Maps of both constituencies are on display at West Devon Borough Council's offices at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock and St James Street, Okehampton. They are also on display at Tavistock and Okehampton libraries.
