CHILDREN at Lewtrenchard Pre-School are learning about the importance of healthy eating with the help of a £400 donation. The pre-school will use its award from the Co-op Community Dividend Fund to buy a year?s supply of healthy, nutritional snacks for the children and fund training to encourage parents to continue the healthy theme at home. Development worker Maggi Calvert said the message about healthy eating needed to come before children reached primary school. ?Our project will encourage those under five to try ?good? food and help their parents to provide good food at home,? she said. The Co-operative Group?s Community Dividend Fund offers grants from £100 to £5,000 to worthy causes and application forms can be picked up in-store.
