Those interested in local history and railways, should head for Buckland Monachorum Village Hall on Saturday February 27, when renowned photographer and railway historian Bernard Mills presents another of his entertaining talks.
Entitled 'Three Stations for Bodmin', the talk will take the audience on a tour of the railway lines and stations around the town, with a nostalgic look back at the days of steam.
The talk is on behalf of Buckland Monachorum Village Hall charity, which is fundraising to buy new tables and chairs for the hall, and to install a hearing loop.
Bernard Mills has worked on the railways all his life and has been photographing the changing railway scene since his boyhood days. He has also travelled all over the world, exploring some of the great railway journeys in America, India and South East Asia. His photos have appeared in many railway books and magazines, and his talks are always popular and well received.
The show at Buckland Monachorum Village Hall will appeal to people of all ages, who have an interest in railways, local history and the art of photography. Bernard lives in Buckland Monachorum and regularly gives up his time to support the hall's fundraising efforts.
