FREE blood pressure checks are being provided at The Meadows in Tavistock on Saturday (April 24) as part of a campaign to raise awareness of strokes.

The checks are being carried out by medical volunteers on behalf of local rotary clubs and will be available from 10am. They are aimed at people who do not see their doctor regularly and anyone who has not had a blood pressure check recently.

Stroke Awareness in one of the charities which will benefit from a charity duck race being held in The Meadows on Saturday at 2pm by Tavistock, Yelverton and Roborough rotary clubs.

Ducks, costing £1 each, will be released from Abbey Bridge and netted at Plymouth Road Bridge with the top prize being £100.
