MORE than 100 dancers helped the Cogs and Wheels ladies Morris dancing team celebrate their tenth birthday last Saturday. The dancers came from eight Morris sides, and two coachloads set off from South Zeal to tour Dartmoor. The first coach stopped at Okehampton, Princetown and Badgers Holt, with sides from Cogs and Wheels themselves, Heather and Gorse, Grimspound Morris, Sidmouth Steppers and Wreckers Morris performing at each place. The second coach headed towards Chagford, Bovey Tracey and Widecombe with Morris men and women from Cogs and Wheels, Tinners Morris, Winkleigh Morris and Cats Eyes. Dancers collected for charity en route. The event was rounded off in the evening with a ceilidh, with all sides demonstrating their talents with song, dance, music and poetry.
