OKEHAMPTON Area Children's Centre held their third annual Big Toddle this month.

The event was opened by MP for Central Devon, Mel Stride, who praised the children and the work of the Children's Centre.

Mr Stride then sent more than 90 under 5s on their way around Simmon's Park.

In keeping with this year's Pirate theme, the majority of the youngsters and their parents had dressed up for the occasion in stripes, hats, eye-patches and parrots.

The aim of the event was to encourage young children of Okehampton to have fun, socialise and be active at the same time as raising money for Barnardo's — the charity that runs the Children's Centre.

At the end of their walk, Mr Stride handed out medals to all the toddlers who took part and chatted with parents. The event was blessed with fabulous weather and the toddle was followed by a sunny picnic and further play with parachute games and mini-agility equipment.
