THE Cotswold Water Park in Gloucestershire was the venue for four Tavistock Triathlon Club athletes to compete last weekend. The sprint event consisted of a 750m swim, followed by a 20km fast and flat bike section ending in a short and quick 5km run. It is aimed for women only to encourage more females into sport!
Clare Short, from TTC, said: 'This is such a wonderful event for all abilities! There are women who have never done any sport for many many years eventing beside women who have competed loads. Everyone helps everyone else and everyone has a lot of fun!'
Alison Whitford completed the course in 1hr 20mins 11secs, Nicky Deane Simmons in 1.20.22, Clare Short 1.24.07 and Sam Mitchell in 1.51.33
