TAVISTOCK BID (Business Improvement District) has appointed a new chairman following the departure of Robin Rich.

During a recent board meeting, Kevin Hailey, from Abode Sales and Lettings, was voted for and appointed as chairman.

Kevin has been on the Tavistock BID board of directors for the past 12 months and has been in business for more than 25 years.

He is now driven to moving projects of the BID plan forward.

Kevin said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed as the chair of Tavistock BID as I am committed to the town and to working with its businesses in these challenging economic times.

‘With the support of levy payers, I hope to bring a fresh and modern approach to meet the changes that are happening nationwide, while maintaining the wonderful traditions of Tavistock.’

Also appointed during the meeting was Valerie Davenport, from Kaleidoscope, to the position of vice-chair.

This new position will be important in providing support to the chairman and assisting in the implementation of the BID plan.

The BID board expressed thanks to Robin Rich for his commitment during his time as chair. For more go to www.tavistockbid.co.uk
