DEVON County AA Field and Track Championships took place recently at Exeter Arena.
A selection of athletes from Tavistock Athletics Club attended this prestigious two-day event, competing against some of the best athletes in Devon.
Superb individual performances were recorded and personal bests (PBs).
Best individual club member went to Alex McCarthy, U15 years boys, who took gold in the 100m, 80m H and triple jump.
Alex Richards ran well in the boys U15 years 1500m and gained fourth position. He went on to compete in a biathlon series at Kelly College on Sunday, taking first position in his age group.
Kyrelle Burton , U15 years girls, took a silver in the 200m and bronze in the 100m. Both good solid runs.
Her brother Ramone gave a creditable performance in the 100m U15 years boys.
Athletes in the U13 years age group had successes on Saturday. Harry Wyatt, U13 years boys, gained bronze in 80m H in fierce competition; Matthew Drage, U13 years, bronze in the high jump.
Dominic McCarthy ran a creditable performance in the 100m and made the 80m H U13 years boys' final.
On Sunday, Jimmy Hubbard added to the club's success by winning gold in U13 years boys' discus and silver in shot.
The athletes will now want to see who will qualify for Devon selection and hopefully compete for Devon later in the year.
