THE first half was frantic with both teams rushing around and creating nothing until Vanstone raced through to score.
After 30 minutes the referee sent off Crabb for bad language. But Bere were never under pressure.
The second half was a physical and passionate affair with good football played by both teams. Gerrans equalised from a header and on a breakaway went in front.
Back came Bere and good interpassing left Westlake to rifle home. Almost from the kick-off Bruce went on a run from his own half, beating player after player to score.
Gerrans? extra player started to tell and they equalised. With 20 minutes remaining Ebanks was sent off in bizarre fashion with both players tussling for the ball. The referee deemed Bere?s player had punched his opponent.
Gerrans pushed hard for a winner, but Bere?s players? backs were up and they were in no mood to surrender.

FROM the kick-off Bere Alston had good possession and chances but did not score.

Good defending kept Bere Alston at bay, with no luck in front of goal. St Stephens broke through the offside trap to score a good gaol to make it 3-0.
