INSPIRED by England's Ashes victories down under Belstone Cricket Club will be hoping for a successful 2011 season in the North Devon League and Buckley Cup.

To get in the swing three indoor net sessions have been booked at the Okehampton Leisure Centre between noon and 1pm on Sundays March 20 and 27 as well as April 3; anyone who would like to join the Club at these will be very welcome, as will members of Sticklepath CC.

The club have signed up for the nationwide English Cricket Board/NatWest CricketForce volunteering weekend on 9 and 10 April.

This is a chance for everyone in the community, whether you are a cricketer or not, to come along to the Rew Meadow ground and lend a hand getting the place in shape for the new season.

There are plenty of jobs to be done, from mending fences and painting the buildings to clearing brambles and rolling the outfield. Refreshments will be available.

The club are holding their annual meeting in Belstone Village Hall at 8pm on Wednesday, March 9.
