YOUNGSTERS in Okehampton have joined the appeal for more adult helpers to come forward to safeguard the future of the town?s Beaver colony.
There is currently a shortage of adult volunteers to help look after the six to eight-year-old Beavers when they play fun games and activities at the same time as learning important life skills.
The Beavers meet on Monday evening from 6pm until 7.30pm in the Ockment Centre.
Group scout leader Robbie Owers said the Beavers had ten members at present, although there were other boys who wished to join but could not do so until more adults to supervise the group can be found.
Training is given to volunteers and for those who may wish to progress and obtain the leader?s warrant the opportunity is available.
Beaver Scout groups were first established in 1986, and the Okehampton pack has been running for many years.
