A BATTLE of the bands event is being organised to help the children of Milton Abbot obtain much needed play equipment.
Milton Abbot Community Group was set up by local parents wishing to fund, equip and manage a small play park in the village.
Deep Blue Recording Studios from Plymouth has donated two days' recording time for the winning U18s band, and Propagation House, Holsworthy, has donated a ten-hour day recording for the over 18s category.
Both winners will also have a song featured on Pirate FM, an interview with James Dundon and a photo shoot with Michael Marker Photography. The runner-up will receive a day recording at Livid Studios, Lifton.
Judges will be looking for bands with musical ability, originality and the 'WOW' factor. Bands' own material is strongly encouraged.
Entries close for bands on April 11 and can be completed online at http://www.letthemplay.co.uk">www.letthemplay.co.uk or by calling 07951 053569.
All profits will go towards providing equipment for the children.
Organisers of the event have expressed thanks to Tee Design and Printing, to regulars at the Tavistock Inn who are lending their time and expertise, and to volunteers from Milton Abbot.
