TWO of Bere Alston Trekkers club runners have made their Australian race debut by taking part in the Rotary Club of Brisbane annual 10k road race. Lauren Sargeant having been beset with painful shin-splints during the winter, followed a recovery training schedule which included hill runs, and regular visits to a physiotherapist, has recovered sufficiently to achieve an excellent time in her debut race for the BATs ? the warm weather she has enjoyed since January very obviously agrees with her and her partner Cameron Woodrow. Lauren said: ?After 12 months of shin splint issues, I seem to have finally managed to overcome them and race! I have got the bug now.? Lauren came in at 55minutes and 33 seconds while Cameron finished in 54m50s.
