MEMBERS from the newly formed ladies running and walking club Bere Alston Trekker?s (BAT?s) took part in the gruelling Autumn Trail Race held at Plympton on Sunday.
The race was the BAT?s second but first off-road course. About a mile into the route was the first of four knee deep and cold river crossings, quickly followed by crossing two.
With dripping shoes and soggy socks it was time to tread the long path into the forest. Up around angled tracks full off muddy puddles and pot holes before sweeping into the downhill section, through the last river crossing and into the last 400m for a sprint finish.
