TWO members of the Bere Alston Trekkers took to the streets of London last weekend to take part in the first Virgin London Marathon.

Pam Adams and Simon Griffiths were both running the marathon for the second time and both were raising money for Help for Heroes — a charity that the club is supporting this year and the money's raised from sponsorship will be added to other funds raised earlier in the year.

Both Pam and Simon said that although the day was very hot the atmosphere was brilliant and that they would like to, through the pages of the Times, thank everyone for the support they have received.

Pam completed the course in 4hours 28mins 22secs and Simon in 4hrs 31mins 27secs.
