OKEHAMPTON Excelsior Band members are busily making the final arrangements for this summer?s visit by the Wesseling Band from Germany ? and this week made an appeal to the town?s residents.
The visit takes place between Saturday August 2 and Saturday August 9 ? the 17th time the band has visited Okehampton.
But organisers have run into a slight problem with accommodation this year, as the visit has proved so popular.
Jean Beardon said: ?Band members are putting people up, but most are families and can only take one visitor.
?The Okehampton Band has many activities arranged for their guests during their stay, both daytime and evening, but are finding it very difficult to accommodate the last eleven visitors.?
Mrs Beardon said the band would be pleased to hear from anyone in the town who would like to provide accommodation for the week of the visit ? financial support would be available to help with costs.
She said organisers would be very grateful for any offers of help, particularly since the visit is now only a few weeks away.
During the visit, a free concert has been arranged in the Charter Hall on the evening of Monday August 4 ? Wesseling Band will also be playing in Red Lion Yard during the Wednesday afternoon.
