Mary Tavy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4
Menheniot . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .1
IT was make or break time at Tavy with two defeats in two games. A defeat here against their nearest league rivals would have spelt disaster for a team who at the start of the season promised so much.
Fortunately this was not the case as Tavy even with major injury problems losing 5 regulars pulled together to get things back into perspective.
James Philpotts filling in at left back saw his flashing shot turned in by the lively Mark Piper who seemed to cover ever inch of the field. It was then that Tavy looked like finishing the game off but instead let Menheniot back in with a gift as the ball was poked over from close range. Tavy struggled to capitalise, several chances were created though only one was decisive enough to make the home side go in with a 2-1 advantage.
In the second half Menheniot were far from finished and only last ditch defending and solid stopping from Tony Rawlings kept the score to Tavy's liking. Matt Salisbury made it all safe combining with Simon Pocknell to make it 3-1.
A fourth was added after substitute Lee Bartlett terrrorised the left wing and his pass was turned in to kill the game in Tavy's favour.
